Stud Vs. 2 x 4. What's the difference?
A stud is a 2 x 4 that has been cut down to 92 5/8". It is then the perfect height to build an 8-foot wall frame with the top and bottom plates.
A 2 x 4 8 foot board is usually slightly over 8 feet so it can be trimmed to the required length
