Door Shop Carpenter

The Door Shop carpenter is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work with a small team that assembles interior doors ready for new construction. We pride ourselves on the quality of our product so this role is for someone who can appreciate craftsmanship and to focus on the finest of detail. The Door Shop carpenter is responsible for all operations of the Door Shop and supervises all activities of the Door Shop including production, team support, housekeeping, and maintenance of all equipment.

Some of the daily duties include:

  • Pick up doors when ready from Door Machine
  • Gather components for the specific door (color, strike leg, etc.)
  • Assemble door and apply hinges
  • Identify errors from machine and measure to specifications before nailing
  • Place completed doors in designated storage areas according to order number
  • Cut headers/bottoms and strikes to maintain inventory stock.
  • Install ball catches in double doors
  • Replenish stock from the warehouse according to purchase orders that day.
  • Be knowledgeable about all products stored in the Door Shop
  • Use proper material handling techniques to ensure minimal damage to Door Shop inventory

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 3 years of specific experience and/or training related to the essential functions of woodworking
  • Experience in Carpentry or woodworking preferred
  • Knowledge of building materials products and lumber required
